Smith Rock Engagement Session at Sunset
Oh. My. Goodness. This stunning golden-hour light on the rocks of Smith Rock State Park was breathtaking. This location is always a favorite for engagement sessions, and it lived up to its expectation this time. Of course, it helps to have such an adorable couple and their sweet dog to photograph. And people pay me to do this! :-)
Do you see what I mean about that amazing light? It was almost sunset, and we took advantage of every angle the park had to offer.
We finished the session with some dramatic shots, just as the light began to fade.

I love that I live so close to Smith Rock! It is by far my favorite place to shoot engagement photos. If you have never been there, it is a short drive from Bend and one of the most iconic destinations in Oregon. The rock formations are gorgeous, the high desert landscape has a unique beauty, and you literally can see the Three Sisters from many spots around the park.There is no better time to visit Smith Rock than when the sun is setting. The light gets so warm and soft, and if you are lucky, you might even get some clouds. I had the pleasure of shooting Brett and Samantha's engagement session last month right at sunset. Even though it was not quite as green as it gets in the springtime, I still think it looks beautiful in these photos!
